So the day I had been waiting for finally came. I'm finally in Guanajuato, Guanajuato, Mexico. The weather is freezing at night, but right now it's 75 degrees. It's been a whirlwind so far, but I'm quickly falling in love with the city. It is exactly as I would picture Mexico in my head had I only heard of the country and never seen it. You know in the movies when somebody is standing still and the world just spins around them? That is exactly how I felt my first day here. I thought I'd never know the city and would never find my way. Everybody that speaks sounds hardly anything like what I've learned. I thought..... no way......To my surprise, in only took a matter of a couple days, I now know how to get downtown and to school. I can find my way home and can communicate better each day. When I'm walking to school, the birds are singing and the morning breeze feels just as it does at home in August. I feel as though I've flown into summer. I walk on cobblestone streets and turns sideways in order to pass through the many people. In the mornings there aren't as many people as most stores don't open until ten. My host mother, Senora Magda, always has a delicious breakfast waiting for me. Usualmente fruit, and lots of it, fresh squeezed orange juice, cereal, and sometimes DELICIOUS pancakes. We eat lunch at about two thiry and dinner around eight. Lunch is a huge meal and dinner is usually more fruit or quesadillas. Something light. At night, in el centro de paz, music is playing, venders are out, and older Mexican couples dance all night long. Alot of times I feel as though I am in a dream, of course other times I feel as though my heade is going to explode. Like I said, I'm falling in love with this city and look forward to all my adventures that are to come.
